Does anyone else ship Gwen and Geoff, or is it just me...
Since they were the original couple from Camp TV, I feel like them getting together eventually would've been very interesting to see. With all respect to Duncney, I feel like these two would've been the original slow burn (ish) enemies-to-lovers storyline on the show if it had gone on as planned.
Also, hear me out, but I feel like they should've been the couple that got together in World Tour instead of Gwuncan. Think about it: Bridgette and Geoff were in a good space before WT, but it always felt very surface-level to me. Gwen and Geoff always had a better, more interesting relationship. Geoff could've replaced any of the males on WT, and it could've gone on as usual, with Courtney suspecting Gwen of catching feelings with Duncan, but secretly crushing on Geoff instead. Once Bridgette kisses a pole, which she thought was Alejandro, it would make sense for them to have troubles in their relationship. Gwen could be a shoulder for Geoff to cry on or just someone to talk to. There are lingering touches, subtle glances.
I don't know how it would go for sure, but what I do know is that this kind of avoids the whole Gwuncan situation. Firstly, it accomplishes the show's original goal: to let the viewers know that teenage relationships don't always last forever. Gwent, arguably the main couple in season one, is already devastatingly broken up. By breaking up Gidgette, the couple with a great physical connection, it would affirm to viewers that physical attraction isn't the only thing to look for in a partner and that physical intimacy doesn't legitimize a relationship. Secondly, it keeps from ruining the perfect couple. I'm sorry, Duncney is the BEST couple in TD history. While I love Aleheather, nothing compares to watching the first twelve episodes of TDI until Courtney and Duncan have their first kiss. They deserved the best, and I don't think they necessarily got the treatment they deserved. If Duncney just had a conflict in WT, that'd be fine. They can break up and then have a redemption arc in All-Stars. I'd be fine with that. What I'm not fine with is Duncan leaving Courtney for Gwen when it makes no sense. Lastly, I know that Geoff and Trent had similar character archetypes, but I genuinely think this relationship would've been something that the fandom hadn't seen up to that point. There are endless possibilities for what they could've done, but I feel the most confident that these two would've been the best, entertaining pairing.
So, how do you feel about it? Yay or nay? I could've explained this better, but I can never formulate my thoughts well enough lol
