I’d actually watched these three episodes before back when I first tried to get into Disventure Camp but abandoned it, so there’s not anything new to me yet. I love Drew so I’m a bit bummed he’s out so early, but I get that he’s not built for the long run in terms of writing. I do really like that him being nonverbal never inhibited his ability to communicate. The others weren’t annoyed by having to read what he said & put in the effort to understand him when his notebook was stolen, which is definitely a kindness to him that something like TD wouldn’t have afforded. He’s so silly I adore him <3 kinda wanna draw what I think he’d look like present-day since he’s canonically 18. maybe older by now idrk how the timeline goes

Since the title is "Popping Trust" I can only assume this is the episode Riya frames Rosa for stealing & takes her idol. sigh everything really did just go downhill after last episode didn't it

Kristal trying so hard to be nice that it's giving her high blood pressure 😭😭 this whole subplot is being framed so weirdly like are we supposed to feel bad for Kristal bc she's treating Oliver like an actual human being lmbo

1 v. 4 w/ the single person being a sort of silent killer getting out all the others despite being at a disadvantage would be really cool if 1) that person wasn't Hunter and 2) the other conflict wasn't going on. why isn't Tess still here. this would've been cool as hell if Tess was the last one standing of the Huntessally trio

Rosa out here like actually legitimately suggesting polyamory to Hunter. are we SURE Huntessally isn't canon

The heel-face turn from Riya being in episode 10 out of 13 is some awful pacing. Like this is just a different person, the Riya who's been in the game up until this point 1) would've felt awful about this and 2) probably, in the first place, wouldn't have framed the ONE LATINA WOMAN of STEALING. this dumpster fire is not real this episode does not exist

I don't even understand the strategy. Why preemptively set up the framing before the challenge even starts? Riya didn't know Hunter would win, and if he didn't, the whole stealing thing probably would've led James and Aiden to vote for Rosa anyways. In that case, Riya losing an ally in Rosa would've been awful if Hunter could've gotten out instead. And even if she had a backup plan for after the challenge, she wouldn't have ended up needing to frame Rosa, bc she could've just not covered for Rosa protecting Hunter and they would've all had enough reason to vote her out that way !! And Riya wouldn't have lost a friend in Rosa !!! this is a complete mess I hate it

I do still like Riya. Mostly because I have this tendency to see characters in media as 'actors' of sorts who act on the writers' whims, meaning they aren't to blame for the bad writing decisions that force them to act out-of-character. So I don't blame her for this; I blame the writers. I see her more as a victim of bad writing than anything

I might not do individual posts for the next three episodes and instead do an accumulative post on my thoughts once I'm done with the season. I was enjoying the show, I really was, but between this episode and the last one I'm more irritated than anything.

I wish this was genuine on Riya’s part. I wish the stealing plot never happened and that she actually did get all this from seeing James’ phone on the dock, and I wish her telling Aiden was mostly out of genuine concern but that there was still that creeping sense of selfishness and a need to get the upper hand. I wish she had the dimensions to her character back

I'm actually kind of astounded how Riya is here at the start of s2. Like I know she's gonna become a villain but I'm 7 episodes in out of, what, 12? 13? And there's still no sign nor foreshadowing of that happening. I can already tell there's gonna be absolutely no positive emotions surrounding the change and I'm kind of scared actually. Free my girl from this show she deserves a longer, drawn out, narratively satisfying decline into villainy and also to feel genuine remorse and be an actually tragic character 💔💔

Immediately addressing the elephant in the room. Why is the thumbnail Ally naked. Considering this is the murderer episode, surely there are gonna be some actually cool shots that could’ve been used in place of that. You do not need to be using a terrified naked woman as your episode thumbnail. At least give her a personality if you wanna be dealing her this indignity

Nina just breaks the entire idea of this being in a realistic world like where in the writing stage did they come up with the concept of her and how did she get past the first draft

Honestly I’m not really mad at Riya for this. If your number one has a number one who isn’t you, game-wise it’s the best decision to get that person out so that you’re the one your ally prioritizes. She didn’t even vote for Lake, just let the majority do their thing. I do wish Lake was in just a bit longer but I don’t see this as an antagonistic move on Riya’s part, just the best one for her strategically at this point in time and unfortunately a sort of risky one in the personal relationship department.
