When all their classmates are replaced with well-behaved Australian doppelgangers in a school exchange program, Lightning and Cody start getting suspicious.
Plot[]
The episode starts at the daycare where Chef is getting ready to show the kids a slideshow of his weekend trip to Australia, but the kids hate it. However, Gwen realizes that since Chef spent the weekend in Australia, and that it takes a whole day to get there, he'd have to fly back the second he landed at the airport, which is exactly what he did. He shares his slideshow of him at the airport, where he took pictures the airport, him with a picture of a koala, one of him trying a grub sandwich, him throwing up into a kangaroo's pouch and then getting kicked by it, which resulted in him crashing through the wall, and then him completely bandaged on the plane returning back to Canada.
Sugar doesn't like how Chef didn't leave the airport, to which he responds he didn't, but he bought a boomerang, making Duncan excited that he goes out to play with it, and the other kids follow. As he throws the boomerang, it flies far away, making Chef upset. However, the boomerang returns back to Duncan, but it hits Cody as he attempts to catch it, and Duncan successfully catches it. Unaware that a boomerang returns back to its thrower if it misses, Duncan thinks it read his mind. Chef tells Duncan that they can be very dangerous, but he decides to let Duncan throw it a few more times, and he'll take it back inside. After Cody stands back up, he says he can't remember what happened, but Gwen tells him that he didn't know what had happened.
Duncan continues to throw the boomerang, and Chef says that he should be angry at Duncan, but he takes on the Australian "No worries, mate!" phrase. The boomerang misses Duncan and hits Chef's car, causing him to get worried for real, to which the boomerang hits Cody again offscreen. Furious, Chef orders Duncan to get in the former's office. Duncan, however, just shrugs and throws the boomerang away, hitting Cody again twice. Owen decides to try throwing it, but it hits Cody again before Gwen catches it, confused about why it hits Cody every time it is thrown. After hearing this, Sugar decides to try throwing it, saying that everybody wants to hit Cody with it. The boomerang nearly hits Cody, but Lightning stops it. No happy that it always hits Cody, Lightning throws the boomerang into the school, saying that it got a "timeout", but the boomerang flies back out and hits Cody again even though he said he wouldn't let anybody hit Cody. Realizing his mistake (and hypocrisy), he apologizes to Cody and puts the boomerang in a trash can, but it shakes around in there.
Inside, Lightning gives Cody an ice bag, and the latter thanks the former for it. Lightning says it's Duncan's fault Cody got hurt and hopes Chef punishes Duncan good. Chef arrives and tells the class that Duncan likes the slideshow so much that he decided to "move" to Australia as part of a student exchange program, making Lightning surprised. As part of the program, they are hosting an Australian boy named "Dinkin," who looks and sounds similar to Duncan. Chef comments that Dinkin arrived the previous day, and anyone who is thinking about it should stop, as well as the fact that Dinkin looks like Duncan as well. The other kids don't believe they're similar, but Lightning is suspicious.
Dinkin is much more well-behaved than Duncan, but Lightning, still suspicious, decides to test him. First, he refers to Dinkin as Duncan, but Dinkin corrects him. Lightning and Cody ask Dinkin if he'd rather do something Duncan would do, but Dinkin disagrees, saying Aussie kids' way of fun is making teachers happy. Lightning then asks him where he's from, and Dinkin hastily responds with "North Kangaroo Town." Cody and Lightning start to think he's telling the truth, but then Gwen arrives saying she has a cousin from Australia, and asks where North Kangaroo Town is located there. Dinkin brings her away to show her on a map. Later, while the kids are playing, another exchange student arrives named "Gwin", who looks, sounds, and behaves much better than regular Gwen. Lightning is once again suspicious, but Chef brushes off his concerns, as he thinks listening to instructions wasn't part of the deal.
In a confessional, Chef finally admits the truth. The reason he went to Australia was to get special mind-control necklaces that would turn the kids into perfect children in exchange for a bottle of genuine maple syrup. The man who gave Chef the necklaces also gave Chef a warning to keep the necklaces away from magnets, which Chef disregarded. Originally, Chef only wanted to use one on Duncan/Dinkin, but then Gwen started asking him questions and he gave her one as well, though Chef promises he won't use any more. Meanwhile, Lightning asks where Gwin/Gwen's from, and she responds with North Kangaroo Town. She also forms a friendship with Cody. Meanwhile, Duncan makes gator cookies for Chef, but allows the kids to try one. However, the necklace gets close to the magnets, causing Duncan to revert to his original personality, only to revert back seconds later. At first, Lightning thinks the kids will go tell Chef and get things sorted out.
However, Chef uses three more necklaces on Izzy, Owen, and Sugar. Sugar's necklace causes her to behave Austrian instead of Australian, making Chef bring her back to his office to try a "different one." This comment catches Lightning's attention. When Owen offers Lightning to help clean up the school as part of a game, Cody takes interest, but Lightning stops him. Lightning's concerns start to grow, while Cody bonds with the brainwashed kids. Noticing their necklaces, he asks if he can have one, but Duncan tells him he doesn't need one.
