Bowie was a camper and one of the two main antagonists of Total Drama Island (2023) as a member of the Frogs of Death and was the runner-up of the season. He returned for Total Drama Island (2024) as the team captain of Team Skunk Butt.
Personality[]
Bowie can be described as both competitive and affable, which sets him apart from most antagonists. While he possesses a strong drive to win, he knows when to put aside his ruthlessness. Despite being naturally competitive, he is sincerely friendly and open to making friends or forming relationships, though he prefers to wait until the season's over so he doesn't hurt them by eventually plotting their elimination. Bowie has trained himself to win the show, and therefore possesses the confidence to believe he will do well.
By Total Drama Island (2024), he's shown to have changed for the better, likely from having Raj by his side, as he's shown to be much more caring and patient with those around him. However his tactics and strategies from last season had made him a very hated contestant, with his allies being only Raj and Wayne. As if it was not enough, when his former team's cheating is discovered by Chris at the beginning of the merge, Julia puts all the blame on him, thus eliminating him early.
Bowie is rather flamboyant, wearing gender-non-conforming clothing and talking in an effeminate manner. Bowie is the first openly gay contestant and isn't afraid to show it, having flirted with several guys and gushing about who he kissed.
Total Drama Island (2023)[]
Bowie quickly bonds with Emma, asking her about Chase.
When he was first introduced in Meet the Victims, he proudly refers to himself as the first openly gay contestant and would do anything to win. Almost immediately, Bowie catches onto Emma's feistiness against Chase and immediately knows he'd like her. He reacts with glee when he sees Nichelle, recognizing her as the star from Hot Teen Ninja Detective Squad. Later, he chucks his stuff in the boys cabin and meets Wayne and Raj, where he overhears a conversation between them talking about the hot people on their team. Bowie tells them that he'll leave if the two are going to talk about him. He then made his way to the girls cabin, where he properly meets Emma. Bowie is intrigued to listen to what Chase did to Emma; however, she doesn't want to say. Emma says that when she wins, she'll donate half the million to an animal hospital. Bowie responds by saying that’s something he'd never consider doing.
Bowie is revealed as the mastermind behind Caleb's elimination.
He and Emma are given the task of guiding Wayne and Nichelle to the chum buckets. He, along with everyone else, is horrified at the sight of Ripper's butt, with his glasses breaking just by looking. He found himself distracted by Caleb, switching his opinions and staring at him when given the chance. He yells at Nichelle and Wayne to run when they are about to lose. And when his team loses, he convinces everyone to vote off Caleb. He says in the confessional that he came to win, and getting rid of the unbeatable threat early is a great strategy.
Emma believes herself and Bowie will be great friends.
In Pirates of the Cabbagean, Bowie sits down at a table with Emma. She appears shocked that Caleb got sent home instead of her. Bowie says that she can thank him for that, as he convinced the whole team to vote for Caleb. Emma asks if he did that for her, but he says he didn't; yet she still owes him one since now Caleb, who was eye-candy to him, has made Bowie sad since he is gone. Emma talks about how they could've had a swimming challenge, which makes Bowie even more sad. He then asks about Chase, and Emma explains the story. Bowie says that he can help Emma take revenge in the challenge, and Emma says that he rocked for saying that. She then agrees that the pair will become great friends.
In the challenge, Bowie and Emma operate a cannon together. Bowie mentions in the confessional that cabbage isn't a fruit, after Wayne declares that's what it was. Bowie appears to be filling the cannons with cabbages as Emma fires. After Nichelle tells them how to hit the ship, Bowie asks Emma if she wants to aim at the ship or Chase, and Emma says Chase. Bowie thinks he likes Emma's style and is happy to help her. Bowie helps load up three cabbages and covers his ears before their launch. He high-fives Emma after they successfully hit Chase numerous times. Nichelle asks them again why they are aiming at people, but Wayne declares it a good strategy. After explaining how they can win the game to Raj in hockey terms, Bowie demands that they speak English.
Bowie and Raj have a proper conversation.
In Drown Town Abbey, Bowie has a brief discussion with Raj in the lodge as they eat, and Raj accidentally flings food on his shirt while talking about one of his experiences in hockey. Bowie brushes this off, forgives Raj, and holds his hand for a moment before Wayne walks in, asking the two if they’d carb load before the challenge with him. Bowie tags out, letting Wayne have his food. After Ripper once again rips his pants, Bowie is disgusted by this. During the challenge, Bowie performs without any complications and is confident in his team’s chances until Nichelle struggles. Bowie finds this whole moment to be cringeworthy, but tries to motivate her regardless. At the elimination ceremony, Bowie voted against MK, as she wasn’t a team player.

Bowie and Emma talk in the main lodge together at the start of Numbskull Island, only for Chase to walk in and flirt with Emma. Bowie decides to “give them some space” but listens in on their conversation. When Emma asks how to get Chase to understand she’s over him, he says he’s “just spitballing,” but maybe she should stop thinking about Chase. When Raj and Wayne describe their game plan, Bowie talks in the confessional about how they’re not the smartest but still adorable. Bowie and MK are on offense together during the challenge, and when MK asks if Bowie understood any of what the Hockey Bros said, he confirms he didn’t, but finds it to be kind of cute. As Scary Girl charges towards him, Bowie joins his team in retreating. They hide, and Bowie suggests they use a decoy. When MK refuses, he forces her to “take one for the team.” Bowie saves Raj after he’s nearly hit by one of the boulders, and the two share another moment. Bowie and Raj hide together before Ripper’s “smell” drives them away. Wayne joins the two in defending the fort after Emma comes up with a new plan. When MK returns after the Frogs of Death won, Bowie makes a comment about her absence, saying, “Way to ghost!”
Bowie agrees to keep Julia's outburst at a raptor a secret.
Bowie calls a team huddle in Jurassic Fart, doubting Chris’s word about the raptors. He and Emma travel together until Bowie trips, and she unknowingly leaves him behind. Bowie and Emma later reunite, only to be split up again after Emma fails to stay silent. Bowie witnesses Julia’s ”wrecking” of one of the raptors, saying he now knows her true colors are vicious and brutal. However, he promises not to tell anyone as long as she doesn’t dissect him like that, as he’s an ugly crier. After the challenge, Bowie has a brief conversation with Raj, who came to check on him.

Bowie teases Julia in The Launchback of Notre Game, asking her if she’s been insulting forest creatures right before she assaults him with a burrito. Bowie joins his team in discussing the recent theft, as one of his lip balms had gone missing. When Raj and Wayne try riding the catapult together, he teases them once again, before Raj shyly reminds Bowie that he and Wayne were just teammates. After Julia flings Raj too far away, Bowie is quick to take action and save him. Bowie performs well in the challenge, scoring 3000 points for his team. He talks in the confessional about how Priya isn’t the only one who trained for this, as he’s both mind-and-body fierce. After scoring, Bowie dives into the pudding to save Raj. The two kiss after he arrives. Bowie finds this to be interesting and quickly leads Raj away from the pudding sharks.
Bowie protects everyone’s secrets.
At the elimination ceremony, Bowie is quick to toss the phone full of confessionals in order to keep everyone’s secrets safe. He clarified that he wanted to hang onto it, but he believed no one having it was better than Julia having it, but the day wasn’t completely bad since he got kissed by a very fine boy. It can be assumed that Bowie voted for MK.
Raj and Bowie share their second kiss, and agree to go on a date after the game.
After the teams dissolve, Bowie decides it’s fine since there’s only one of him. And when Chris announces the possible necessity of a partnership for the challenge, he joins forces with Emma once again. The two run into Raj, and they talk about the events of the previous episode, as Bowie says he enjoyed kissing Raj’s face, but he’s afraid he may have to kick Raj in the face, and that he wanted to put a hold on their relationship until after the competition. The two nearly kiss before Emma interrupts them, and they separate in a moment of panic. Emma asks Bowie what was going on between him and Raj. He decides to fill her in while they walk. Bowie says in the confessional that he believes telling secrets on Total Drama Island is never a good idea, but that there was no fun in making out with a super hot guy if he couldn’t tell anyone. Bowie and Julia partner up after Julia decides she needs Bowie’s vote to eliminate Chase. After Bowie and Julia find eggs together, he asks how they’d decide who’s going to take immunity, moments before she pushes him down and says they’ll race. Bowie follows behind her, vocally expressing his belief that this wasn’t fair. When Bowie sees Chase and Emma back together, he compares it to scraping poop off the bottom of your sneaker only to step in the very same poop again. Bowie is horrified when he sees Raj and Wayne’s injuries, and he is quick to check on them. At the elimination ceremony, Bowie answers when Chef asks what happened to Wayne and Raj.

Bowie is annoyed by Julia’s notifications in The Wheel of Vomit, demanding that she turn down her phone. Bowie finds Raj’s mouthguard in his shoe and reads Raj’s poem before reminding himself to focus so he could win. He puts it in his mouth before realizing it was as gross as it may be adorable. Bowie starts chewing gum, hoping to get the taste out of his mouth. Bowie teases Julia once again when she walks in, but she ignores him and knocks him over, getting him in his hair. Bowie and Emma talk together about Emma’s relationship with Chase as she helps get the gum out of his hair. Bowie was the second to be eliminated from the challenge after barfing. In the confessional, he talks about how his brain was saying he could do it, but his stomach didn’t agree. Bowie is one of many grossed out by the tiebreaker, and he later barfs along with everyone else. At the elimination ceremony, Bowie’s vote goes to Millie, as he believed some people were getting too comfortable on the island.

In Paddle Field Earth, Bowie’s rivalry with Julia continues as he adds Chase and Zee to his alliance with Emma, hoping to get a numerical advantage over Julia’s alliance. Bowie and Julia frequently pick fights with each other throughout the episode. As Bowie watches Julia get beaten by the bears, he decides to just play it safe until he can step over her broken body and ring the bell. Under the belief that Zee was giving the other alliance bad advice, Bowie decides Zee may be a secret genius. He and Julia climb Honey Mountain close together. Bowie and Julia fight, but she proves superior and rings the bell. Bowie requests a revote after Zee reveals his plan.
Bowie finds and uses Julia's phone to watch others' confessionals.
In The Truth, The Pole Truth and Nothing But the Truth, Bowie and Julia enjoy teasing each other before the challenge. Bowie is the first camper to fall, and he takes the opportunity to scoop up Julia’s phone MK had used to download and view confessionals. He searches through said phone for anything useful. He stumbles upon confessionals about Millie's notebook and plans to use this information against her. At the elimination ceremony, Bowie chooses to vote for Chase over Julia.
Having had enough of Emma, Bowie tells Emma off.
He later regrets this action in the following episode, as it cost him his friendship with Emma after he lashed out at her. Bowie is repeatedly beaten by a Canada goose throughout the episode and ends the challenge with a total of zero points. At the elimination ceremony, he votes off his former ally.
Bowie pretends to work together with Julia to gain her trust.
Bowie’s scheming starts to develop even more in Caved by the Bell, as now he plans to both eliminate Julia and end Millie and Priya’s alliance. He explains to the duo that he wasn’t asking for an alliance but was rather proposing that he’d partner with Julia and throw the challenge for her. Bowie’s reason as to why Millie and Priya should work with him over Julia is four simple words: “I. Am. Not. Julia.” He makes a comment about how he had to use his thumb, but it still worked. Bowie and Julia shake hands and agree to ally with one another, and Bowie’s plan is now set into motion. He has a difficult time collecting tokens, acting more as a distraction for the bats and spiders. After Bowie gets caught in a web, Julia reluctantly cuts him free due to needing his vote but threatens to leave him behind if he slows her down again.
Bowie has successfully caused a rivalry between Millie and Priya.
The two villains run into Millie and Priya, and Bowie scolds them for their inability to collect any tokens, telling them to hurry. After Bowie and Julia leave the cave, Bowie seems disappointed at the idea of Priya going home and having to face Julia in the finale. At the elimination ceremony, Bowie blindsides Julia, voting her off and saving Millie from losing the new tiebreaker method in a 3-1 vote. Bowie delivers a present to Priya and eavesdrops on the following conversation that was a result of this gift.
Bowie makes it clear again that he intends to take the crown.
Now in the finale, Bowie wants to choose Raj as his helper. He isn’t so enthusiastic when Julia is his helper, as she tried forcing him to sign a contract saying he’d split the money with her if he won. Refusing to do so, Bowie tears up the document and decides to do it himself. However, Julia takes her end of the saw, causing Bowie to lose the lead by a significant amount. After Bowie manages to get back in the game, he is shown talking about all his achievements in the confessional. He tells Chris to shut it when he’s teased about the odds being against him. After Priya hops onto Bowie’s raft, he’s quick to tell her that no hitchhikers are allowed and engages in a sword fight with her. The two have a confrontation in which they agree to make it to the next round together and eliminate Millie, but then the gloves are off. Bowie reveals that he tore out the last page of Millie's notebook, calling it heartfelt, but saying he couldn’t let the two make up before the finale. During the final challenge, Bowie experiences difficulties with his goats, making him decide he now wants an all-goat diet. After Priya wins, Bowie is shown getting out of his turbo orb, gagging, presumably because of motion sickness. At the elimination ceremony, Raj comforts Bowie about his loss. Bowie joins the other cast members in celebrating the rematch.
Total Drama Island (2024)[]
Bowie is about to win, but Nichelle leaps to the end, winning it for her team.
Bowie comes back alongside the other contestants in The Pink Painter Strikes Again. When Raj, Wayne, and Bowie make their way to the bleachers, Wayne reintroduces themselves, but everybody is glaring at Bowie. He tells everyone that last season, he made some tactical maneuvers using Millie's notebook that some people may feel were, as some contestants would say, "sneaky," "underhanded," and "evil." However, Bowie said that he taught everyone how to be better players, causing Millie to wonder if that’s even an apology. Bowie and Priya, being last season's finalists, pick the teams. Bowie immediately picks Raj first, disgusting Chris, as Priya's pick was also sentimental. Bowie tells Raj that it’s time to get strategic, weigh every option, and find the perfect balance of brains, brawn and cunning, but Raj suggests Wayne, and he agrees. Bowie picks Julia, knowing it could blow up in his face but also win him a million dollars. Bowie later picks Chase, MK, and Zee to be on his team. Bowie picks who he thinks is a new contestant, only to learn from Chris that there are no new contestants and he actually picked Scary Girl. She tells Bowie that he won’t regret picking her, while he whispers that it’s too late. Bowie taunts Priya's team for having the name Rat Face until he finds out his team's name is Skunk Butt. At the challenge, Bowie tells them that it is time to strategize. At the end, Bowie and Nichelle are the last ones remaining; he seemed certain he would win, but Nichelle makes a huge leap to the finish, winning it for her team. At the Campfire Ceremony, Bowie and Scary Girl are at the bottom two; much to Raj's happiness, he gets the last marshmallow.

In Taking It to the Rim Reaper, Bowie is asked by Ripper for relationship advice about Axel, which shocks Bowie. He protests when Chase suggests filming a stunt video during the challenge, and tries to get Chase to take a one-point slide. Later in the challenge, Bowie slides and is able to score the first point for his team. When his team begins to fall far behind in points, he gets Wayne, Raj, MK, and Julia to slide. When Ripper arrives with a speedo and is covered in butter, Bowie is disgusted. When Wayne and Raj get stuck in the toilet slide, Bowie tries unclogging them but gets stuck too. As he shouts out to Julia for assistance, she comes down - only provoking the clog, angering Bowie.
Team Rat Face roasts Bowie hard after he complains about his team's numerical disadvantages.
Bowie is trash talked by Team Rat Face when he complains about his team's numerical disadvantages in You Poor Saps. In the confessional, he is confused about why Priya would take Caleb's side. When MK suggests taking a shortcut, Wayne and Raj agree, and he reluctantly goes with them. When Bowie is confronted by Raj and Wayne about his team cheating, he says it is not cheating; it's just giving them a slight advantage that the other team doesn't have, adding that rules are meant to be broken. He notices Wayne and Raj are crying and tells Julia and MK that he, Raj, and Wayne will go to the finish line while they run some special ops. When they finish, he and his team begin to cover themselves with sap again.
Bowie does a montage of dance moves, getting all the answers correct.
In Choosin' for a Bruisin', Bowie apologizes to Raj for cheating in the previous episode and tells him that without MK, he'd still be stuck to Wayne. Raj begins to ease up, and Bowie promises to stop cheating. Bowie then tells MK to bring them another win, much to Raj's chagrin. He then apologizes, saying it was a reflex. Later in the challenge, Bowie reveals he wants to make sure his direct messages remain private and was even willing to dress like a clown for a whole year to keep it that way. Bowie, MK, and Julia use "hot sign," which means they need to listen to how many times she shouts the word rather than the answer she actually says, to cheat on the glass bridge challenge. In the confessional, he says he feels guilt about cheating but has no other choice. Bowie goes on a montage, doing several dance moves and getting all the answers correct. When MK notices Chris getting suspicious, she tells him the wrong answer, and he falls, getting attacked by wolverines; once he gets out of the pool, he glares at MK. Once their team wins, Raj gives Bowie a hug, thinking he didn't. Bowie says he misses when lying was profitable and fun in the confessional.

Bowie tries telling Julia he is done cheating in Ice to Beat You, but she says he has to if she wants him to. As she walks away, he says they are not done talking, and she threatens to tell Raj about the cheating. She tells him to take Wayne and Raj, and he frustratingly agrees. In the iceberg, Bowie distracts Wayne and Ripper from the cheating, telling them to go have fun on the ice, although he doesn't feel good about this. After MK uses Chris' hairdryer to melt the ice in order to get the key, Bowie tries to reassure himself that it is hardly cheating as they did not melt the whole iceberg. When Raj and Wayne find out about their team's cheating, Julia tells them Bowie joined them too, which upsets Raj. Bowie tries defending himself, but Julia tells them about the bridge challenge. Raj questions Bowie about how he is okay with what the girls are doing. Trying to make amends with Raj, Bowie starts a snowball fight with Raj and Wayne against the girls, but they end up falling through the ice. At the end, Bowie is happy his team won, but questions at what cost.

In Canoe Believe It?, because of the merge, Bowie is anxious as he no longer has voting numbers on his side. In the confessional, he describes Julia as a hungry dog, eyeing a charbroiled Bowie burger. In the challenge, Bowie partners up with Raj. As they cross the woods, they narrate for themselves, dodging obstacles; he tells Raj that he feels bad for the other teams as they are too good. They are both forced to fight later in the challenge, but they do not want to hurt each other. He hits Raj directly in the face, causing him to fall into the water. Bowie goes to check on him, but he compliments Bowie's throw. In the semi-finals, he is forced to fight Axel. Bowie tells her her shoes are untied, trying to distract her; he eventually is able to distract her long enough to knock her off the canoe. In the finals, he goes up against Damien, telling him to take a dive as he doesn't want to hurt him the way he hurt Axel. Damien throws his javelin, hitting Bowie in the face, causing him to fall in the water. At the Campfire Ceremony, Bowie and MK are at the bottom two, and MK gets the last marshmallow. Raj is sad, but Bowie tells him not to be. Raj blows into a tissue and gives it to Bowie so he can remember him. In the confessional, Bowie says he doesn't blame them for voting him off, except Julia. Bowie reluctantly accepts the tissue with a disgusted look and heads to the Dock of Shame. The Drone of Despair then takes him away.
Bowie returns to the island with the other eliminated contestants in Soar Losers. He is seen cheering for Wayne in the confessional with Wayne's team. When Zee and Wayne get distracted by the pizza during the challenge, Bowie tells them to focus as there is not time for that. While Wayne runs up the hill, Bowie tells him to believe in miracles and not to stop until they reach the top. After Raj shoots Wayne with a cannon, Bowie says he is sure Raj is a kind of smart in the confessional. Bowie cheers at the end when Wayne wins.

- Bowie has been shown to sometimes sleep in the girl's side of the cabin.
- Bowie mentions he was the prom king and queen of his school in his audition. Since prom attendees are in their final year of high school, it's implied that Bowie is 17–19 years old, unlike most of the other contestants. That said, it could also be possible that Bowie maybe skipped up a year at school, given his competitiveness.
- Terry McGurrin eventually confirmed that none of the contestants are older than 17 and that Bowie's prom likely took place during his junior high.
- Tom McGillis has cited Bowie as one of his favorite characters to write.
- He also mentioned that Bowie was conceived early on as far more villainous but that all changed due to the script evolution and the layers that Brandon Michael Arrigton brought on to the role, thinking this is why many fans came to root for Bowie.
