Harold and DJ have been close since Total Drama Island, in which they were placed on the same team. Though DJ sometimes helps Duncan and Geoff to make fun of him, Harold does not seem to hold a grudge towards him. Many times in the series, the two of them show a degree of respect to each other for contributing to their team. They are also placed on the same team for the next two seasons that they compete on, giving them a chance to bond more.
DJ and the rest of the Killer Bass are shocked to see Harold dodge every ball thrown at him by Owen in the final round. While the team gives Harold water and a pep talk, DJ rubs his shoulders. He and the team begin cheering for Harold as he re-enters the court, and after he successfully catches Owen's final dodgeball, DJ carries Harold on his shoulders, along with Duncan, while the rest of their teammates congratulate him.
After Chris announces what the challenge of the day will be, Harold and DJ share a fist bump. During DJ's audition, Harold and the rest of the team are impressed by his ribbon dancing skills. Likewise, DJ is awed by Harold's beatboxing and cheers for him.
After being frightened by Duncan's scary story, Harold along with the rest of the team hide behind DJ.
When it is DJ's turn to face his fear, most of the team, including Harold, encourage him and cheer when he faces it.
With the paddles to the canoes burnt up due to Harold's misguided attempt to win the campfire building challenge, DJ mananages to swim the entire Killer Bass on top of their canoes back to camp (having overcome his fear of water with the help of Geoff).Harold cheers DJ on along with the rest of their teammates.
Disgusted with Harold's habit of not picking up his dirty laundry and leaving his clothes on the cabin floor instead, DJ joins Duncan and Geoff to prank him in order to teach him a lesson. Their mischief first involves Geoff stealing most of Harold's underwear while DJ spills a bucket of water on Harold; Harold replies with "smooth move, Dorkahantus!" Harold returns to the cabin to change his outfit but all he has on is his thong underwear as he was unable to find any pants. When he returns to the kitchen, the trio laugh at him. As they continue to joke about his current situation, Duncan tells him that they had returned his clothes and they are at the cabin. Harold leaves to change his clothes again, unaware that the trio had put hot sauce on one of his underwear. The resulting sensation is unbearable and Harold has to jump into the lake to cool off. With nothing else left to wear, Harold has to wear his pajamas.
They also make Harold eat his underwear by putting them inside some sandwiches. After the challenge has ended, the trio carry Harold's bed while he is asleep to the Dock of Shame. When he wakes up the next morning, he is standing in front of all the female contestants (who are taking a swim in the lake) with his genitals in clear sight. Embarrassed, Harold quickly swears to the trio that he will not leave his underwear lying around again and they give him back his clothes, successfully teaching Harold a lesson, with them laughing at his misfortune.
After Chris reports that Harold wiped out, DJ facepalms. When it is declared that Harold is eliminated, Harold high-fives DJ, Duncan, and Bridgette as he walks towards the Dock of Shame. DJ is also among those gathered as Harold boards the Boat of Losers .
The two are shown standing together when with the others who lost challenge and sit together at the elimination ceremony. Harold glares at DJ when the latter tries peeking at his voting device.
Harold takes charge in the sandcastle building challenge and tells DJ to get more water for the sand in his bucket. DJ is very impressed with the "Taj MaHarold" and looks angrily at the birds that destroy it. He's later shown to be impressed by Harold's dancing skills at the Gaffers' victory fire.
Harold reminds his team to save pizza for an absent DJ. Harold and Izzy lift DJ up and place him in one of the quarantine bubbles after it's discovered that he has a sore that's a sign of a deadly disease.
During the screaming part of the challenge, Chef forces DJ to approach Harold. Harold happily greets him upon seeing him, but Chef signals to DJ to slip on the hockey mask. DJ promptly scares Harold, causing him to give off an impressive scream. When Harold volunteers a magic trick to scare the Killer Grips, DJ holds the fishing pole for Harold. Harold later compliments DJ knowing his way around the kitchen after he finds corn starch for Duncan, causing DJ to nervously shrug. Like everyone else, Harold is shocked when DJ quits the show due to guilt, by virtue of his illegal alliance with Chef.
During breakfast, Harold admits he misses DJ and his cooking as it was way better than Chef's food.
In the pyramid, Harold and DJ team up with Leshawna and go through the corridor with the mummy sign on it. The trio are the first to exit the pyramid and happily cheer when Chris announces that they are in Team One.
After seeing Harold swinging their team's stick around, DJ scolds him and grabs it away from him after he hurts Ezekiel by accident.
At the beginning of the episode, Harold and DJ see Alejandro flirting with Leshawna. Harold tells DJ he could have flirted with her as well but he wants to keep the ladies "wanting more". DJ retorts that what Leshawna wants is more Alejandro. Harold laughs that DJ knows nothing about women, but when Leshawna takes her time in being released by Alejandro, DJ smiles smugly and rhetorically asks "nothing?". At the elimination ceremony that night, Harold and DJ are in the bottom two. Just as Chris calls out Harold's name, Harold announces he is quitting as it was his fault they lost, sparing DJ from elimination.
DJ sees Leshawna holding Harold's num-yos, and says he is sorry that Harold's gone.
- This is one of three pairs to be on the same team three or more times. The others being Gwen and Heather and Izzy and Owen.
- Both have been a part of one of the guys' alliances, though it was in different seasons:
- Both are among the few contestants to have willingly quit the show, as well as being among the few to vote for themselves.
- The two have very similar experiences of the Japan elimination: they both feel guilty about mistakes made in their respective challenges, (DJ harming a panda bear, Harold's somber commercial failing to impress Chef) and subsequently voted for themselves.
