- At the end of the episode, the jail Chef visits is the same prison Chris was locked up in in Heroes vs. Villains.
- MacArthur's police uniform is a modified version of her original self's outfit, with a darker shade of blue shirt, a different cap and many badges and tags on her uniform.
- The baby seal from Total Drama World Tour and The Ridonculous Race makes an appearance in the animal prison, it seems like this baby seal has blue eyes instead of black.
- The end credits is based off of a scene of Encore'tney where Izzy pours milk down the slide and gets hurt.

- This is the second episode with a title that references the 1954 film, Dial M for Murder. The first is "Dial M for Merger."
- Tommy’s name and voice is a reference to Tommy Wiseau, the director and star of the famously bad 2003 movie The Room. His line about Chef betraying him is also a reference to a line from the film.
