- Gwen's biography in Total Drama Island stated that her mother is single, meaning either her parents are divorced or her father has passed away. In this series, both her parents are still together.
- Gwen's mother's design in the original series greatly resembles her daughter. In this series, her body shape is rather different, bearing more of a resemblance to Izzy's than Gwen's.
- The cat picture seen earlier in the episode might have been a foreshadowing that Gwen would turn into a sweet human-cat hybrid.
