Gwen is a goth girl whose interests lie in art and astronomy. She is smart, independent, kind and level-headed, stating her best quality is her inability to get excited over minuscule things. Her attitude at first seems very harsh and sarcastic, but she is not a bitter person. Rather, she is cautious of whom she lets into her life. Beneath her tough exterior, there is a kind heart that learns to trust as the series progresses. Gwen's guard lowers with each season. Despite her distaste for whatever "the sheep" are fond of, she actually does desire to be welcomed by the popular crowd. As revealed in Trial by Tri-Armed Triathlon, she distances herself from it because she believes it is not where she belongs. She isn't afraid to stand her ground should her reputation take a hit. Gwen also suffers from claustrophobia, as seen in Phobia Factor, The Treasure Island of Dr. McLean, and Zeek And Ye Shall Find. She believes strongly in karma and is also a huge fan of horror movies, the clichés of which will sometimes dictate how she performs in challenges.
When Gwen arrives at Camp Wawanakwa in Not So Happy Campers - Part 1, she is already very displeased, and even a little angry, at the location of the island. Gwen seems to be put off by many things, such as Geoff's happy attitude towards everything, Cody, who she throws out of her cabin after he tries to flirt with her, and Lindsay, who she calls an idiot due to her poor knowledge in living the outside world. Gwen attempts to ignore Trent as well, but can't help smiling at him. Gwen immediately makes enemies with Heather when she addresses her as "weird goth girl". While often complaining about the the camp's condition as well as the campers' weird habits, Gwen admits to herself that she might as well do her best to win the competition.
In The Big Sleep, she instantly bonds with Trent over the course of the challenge. She is the last person in her team standing in the Awake-A-Thon and once it is discovered that Duncan had fall aensleep in the washroom, Chris declares Gwen the winner of the challenge. As a result of staying awake for several hours, Gwen spends most of the time in Dodgebrawl drowsy and sitting out for most of the challenge. When it is her turn, she is actually pleased when she is quickly eliminated as soon as she plays. In Not Quite Famous, Gwen spends most of the time by either by herself or with Trent, not wanting to join her team on auditioning for the talent show. While writing in her diary, she is bothered by Cody, who displays stalker-like affection towards her, to the point of sniffing her hair. Her feelings for Trent are exploited when Heather steals and reads her diary in front of everyone, including the entire viewing audience, for the talent show. As everyone watches and Cody and Trent realize who the entry is about, Gwen runs away. Gwen refuses to let Heather get away with it. After the challenge ends, she borrows Harold's red ant farm and dumps in Heather's bed. This episode marks the beginning of Gwen's long and complex rivalry with Heather. She is still upset about this incident in The Sucky Outdoors, staying behind her team as they walk to the woods.
In Phobia Factor, Gwen admits her fear of being buried alive, due to her claustrophobia. For her part of the challenge, she has to be buried alive for five minutes. To help her out, Trent tries to talk to her via a walkie-talkie, but Gwen is left alone after Trent faces his own fear of mimes. Unintentionally, she is left in there much longer than just five minutes, since Trent forgets all about her after he overcomes his fear and gets distracted helping Chris, who was making Geoff conquer his fear at the time. After a while, Trent finally remembers her and digs her out of the casket. Angry at him abandoning her, Gwen throws her walkie-talkie at Trent and does not forget about this incident. Nevertheless, Gwen successfully earns a point for her team. In Up the Creek, when Trent and Gwen are just about to become canoeing partners on the way to Boney Island, Cody manages to grab Gwen before she can partner up with Trent, and attempts to persuade her to be his partner. Gwen rejects his offer but has no choice but to accept his offer in the end as Trent snagged off-guard by Lindsay and Beth. While Cody believes that he has a good chance of making Gwen fall for him, Gwen admits that Cody is acting like "a very annoying little brother". Cody attempts to ask Gwen out on a date, even after Gwen harshly refuses him several times and finally submits after Gwen whacks him in the groin. Cody finally realizes she likes Trent, but she whacks him in the groin again when Cody admits he made a bet with Owen to get one of her bras. Much later, Cody successfully gets Gwen and Trent into a canoe together, and Gwen awards him with one of her bras.
After a three episode losing streak, Gwen's team begins to have a little luck regain. In Who Can You Trust? Gwen's conflict with Heather continues as they are paired up for the first part of the challenge. As a prank, Heather tied an extra rope on Gwen's skirt and pulls it while she is climbing the mountain, ripping her skirt and exposing her underwear in front of the entire viewing audience. Despite being embarrassed about this, she manages to get to the top and win the challenge. She is later paired with Leshawna for the toboggan race down the cliff and they manage to win invincibility for their team for the first time in four episodes. Gwen again contributes to her team's victory in Basic Straining, overcoming all the obstacles Chef Hatchet threw at her and being the last contestant standing. This earns her the respect of Chef, something Chef rarely shows to any of the contestants. In X-Treme Torture, she and Bridgette argue on a haiku poem they found and believe that their respective love interest wrote it for them. However, once they realize that neither Trent or Geoff wrote the haiku, the two make amends after their failures and hug each other.
When the teams are split into boys and girls in Brunch of Disgustingness, Gwen immediately sides with her friend, Leshawna, against Heather and Lindsay. When Bridgette joins the girls' cabin, Gwen immediately warns her not to trust Heather. Bridgette takes her advice and joins her and Leshawna. After the girls lose to the boys, Gwen and Leshawna lock Heather and Lindsay outside their cabins. In No Pain, No Game, Gwen continues to ignore Trent for abandoning her when she got buried alive, though she finally accepts his apology. Gwen's first task involves Chef pulling her nose hair forcefully, which she passed. However, she failed her second task; listening to New Age music torture. During the elimination ceremony, she voted for Eva, calling her a "freak" due to her temper.
In Search and Do Not Destroy, Gwen denies that she still have a crush on Trent, despite being caught on camera drawing a picture of him. For the challenge, Gwen has to get her key from a skunk's burrow. With Trent's help, she manages to retrieve it. In return for helping her, Gwen gives Trent a kiss. Seeing this as a start of an alliance, Heather sends Lindsay to get Gwen to the Dock of Shame where she kisses Trent right in front of Gwen. Heartbroken, Gwen leaves in tears and tell Leshawna about what had happened. Determine to help her friend, Leshawna rallies the other contestants to vote off either Trent or Heather. Since Heather is immune, Trent receives the most votes and is eliminated. Heather then reveals to everyone that she had set them up in order to get Trent eliminated. Trent and Gwen make amends to each other and as they are about to share another kiss, Chris interrupts them and send Trent to the Boat of Losers. As Trent slowly sail away into the night, Gwen tearfully waves at him goodbye. For the next few episodes, Gwen is still sad about Trent's elimination but is still determinde to get her revenge on Heather. Unfortunately, Heather's winning streak continuse and she is immune.

However, none of the campers (except Duncan) listen to her and one-by-one, they all leave the campfire, much to her annoyance. Eventually, she and Duncan are the only campers remaining, with Gwen expressing her annoyance about nobody taking her seriously. In the end, Duncan also leaves, and Gwen angrily storms to the kitchen, not caring about the rules anymore. While eating a sandwich, Gwen notices the killer behind her but she isn't afraid, believing him to be a poorly paid actor. She further angers the man by telling him that he is not scary until he removes his hook, revealing his stumped hand. Suddenly, Chris, Chef and the other campers barge into the main lodge to warn her that the man is an actual psycho killer. Just as the killer is about to attack her, Gwen kicks him in the face several times out of self-defense. This upsets the killer, and he leaves the building in annoyance. With this, Gwen is awarded invincibility and joins in the group hug bidding DJ farewell. In Wawanakwa Gone Wild!, Gwen wins the challenge again, this time by catching her duck faster than the other campers. She is able to lure the duck into the cage using duck bait after outrunning it. Gwen is rewarded with a feast, but it ends up being ruined by Owen while he is chasing his chipmunk.
In Trial by Tri-Armed Triathlon, Gwen is paired up with her least favorite contestant, Geoff which she is not excited about. Geoff's easy, ongoing, and positive attitude annoys Gwen. Throughout the challenge, Geoff takes his time in everything and even taking pictures with his camera. Eventually, Gwen loses her patience with him and threw the camera into the lake before demanding Geoff to take things more seriously. Geoff admits to Gwen that he always wanted to her friend and invite her to his parties if they are ever in the same school. Gwen then reveals that she wish she could be the type of person who would enjoy parties but she never attends any, believing that it wasn't in her DNA. Geoff lightens her up and promises to invite her to a party once the competition is over. Upon hearing this, Gwen starts to lighten up a bit and they continue with the challenge. During the elimination ceremony, Gwen is shocked to find out that Geoff is voted off. Duncan, Heather, and Owen reveal that Geoff's popularity and niceness is a threat to them and thus, they voted for him. Geoff accepts his fate and heads for the Dock of Shame. On the way, Gwen stops him and gives him back his camera, which she fished out of the water on Boney Island. Gwen is about to say goodbye when Geoff grabs her and takes a picture of them.

In order to calm everyone down, Owen tells them that they should confess their deepest darkest fears. Although what she did is not revealed to the audience, Heather questions Gwen's sincerity and if Gwen is even her real name. In Are We There Yeti?, Gwen is once again partnered with Heather. Despite their conflict, they eventually realize that if they ever wanted to win the challenge, they must cooperate. Eventually, the girls trick the boys into giving them their supplies one night and they reach the finish line first.

The game continues with one dare after another and after a while, Gwen decides to end things fast by convincing Owen to take down Heather together with the promise of sharing the prize money with him if she wins or a box full of donuts if he wins. Owen agrees and the two of them throw Heather with many challenges while using their freebies to save themselves. In the end, Heather is finally eliminated, making Gwen and Owen the final two of the season.
In The Very Last Episode, Really!, Gwen express her opinion on the island and states that almost every camper (with the exception of five of them) are insane in their own way. When asked what she is planning to use the prize money for, Gwen states that she will give half of it to Owen as she promised in the previous episode, and the remaining will be used to get into a good university. When Owen reveals that he is hosting a party after he wins, some of Gwen supporters switch to Owen's side, leaving only Cody, Eva, Trent and Leshawna her supporters. Seeing how greedy they are, Gwen calls those who betray her "sell-outs". Gwen has the lead for most of the challenge, with Trent running by her side for moral support. Along the way, Heather tries her best to make sure Gwen does not win by ripping Justin's shirt in order to distract her though this backfires as Owen is distracted too. Not long later, Gwen has a good lead as Owen had to use the bathroom as he ate the cupcake that Gwen received from Trent (Heather in reality).
In Owen's ending, she is winning until Owen gets motivated to run by the brownies that Izzy made and runs all the way to the finish line, pushing Gwen aside along the way and causing her to be the runner-up. At this moment, Trent lifts Gwen onto his shoulders and convinces her to go out with him. Gwen finally agrees. In Gwen's ending, Trent encourages her not to give up after Owen knocks her down. Owen ends up a few inches away from the finish line after tackling Izzy and by the time he realizes it, Gwen had already passed him and is declared the winner of the season. After receiving the final marshmallow, Gwen declares that with her remaining money, she can still set up a huge party and invites everyone except Heather. Like in Owen's ending, she and Trent are officially a couple.

Gwen is awed by his devotion that she gives Trent her necklace as a good luck charm. During the voting, Gwen refuses to show who she is voting for as she doesn't want to be seen as "predictable".
Gwen's feud with Heather continues after Total Drama Action has ended. She also hosted a web show talking about her time on Total Drama in addition to spreading the need to protect the environment. During one of her segments, she brought Katie and Sadie as her assistants to substitute Leshawna who was participating on a different reality show at the time with Tyler. However, the two of them were more of an annoyance instead of being helpful. The show soon came under attack by Heather, who mocks the show with her own web video. Gwen retaliates by revealing that Heather was turned down by everyone in school for a school dance and post a video of Heather's cat licking her. When interviewed by Josh from Celebrity Manhunt, the two exchange insults before engaging each other physically. Gwen is also pulled into a love triangle featuring Duncan and Courtney. Both girls are placed on Team Amazon, along with Heather, Izzy, and Cody.
Being on the same team with her again, Cody once again tries to make a move on Gwen in Walk Like An Egyptian - Part 2 since she and Trent are no longer dating. As before, Gwen kindly rejected him. It is Cody's attraction to her that made newcomer, Sierra to hate Gwen especially after she switches teams with Izzy. To make things more complicated, Gwen is also on the same team with her worst enemies, Courtney and Heather. Being pulled into their leadership struggle in Super Happy Crazy Fun Time Japan, the three of them spend most of their time arguing and are unable to come up with an idea for a commercial. However, a bear follows her for an unknown reason but was pulled back by the interns. Like Noah, Gwen doesn't seem to be excited about returning to the plane but participates anyway due to their contract. While in line, she was reunited with Trent, who brings up her and Duncan and says that he didn't see it coming (despite his jealousy from the previous season). Gwen did not receive one of the cans that allowed an attempt to return to the competition. After Tyler was eliminated, she talks and jokes around with Trent, showing she is still able to be friends with him.
Gwen's elimination leaves an impact on many of the remaining contestants and she was mentioned multiple times. While Sierra and Courtney are excited about her absence, both Duncan and Cody lamented her loss in Sweden Sour. The latter was so depressed that he is unable to help out in the challenge and ended up using all his team's materials to craft a giant wooden sculpture of Gwen's head. He even dreamed about marrying her at one point in his sleep. Duncan, despite claiming otherwise to Courtney, also shows that he misses her by crafting her face onto the side of his chair in the first class. To her shock, she is placed in the Villainous Vultures. When she asks about why she was placed on the villains' team, Courtney angrily tells her it was because she kissed Duncan. She still hopes to unite her team, but everyone else has other plans and their own motives. As they head to the cliff for the challenge, Courtney glares at Gwen. Annoyed, Duncan glares back at Courtney for Gwen. When the challenge begins and the teams have to pick a driver, Gwen suggests that Jo should dive for the team due to her athletic ability. Jo mocks Gwen about her "boyfriend kissing", and once again, Gwen clarifies in the confessional that Duncan was not Courtney's boyfriend at the time. At the top of the cliff, Sierra tells Gwen and Duncan that, while most of her blog readers were upset about "Gwuncan", she understood, saying that "love is love". When Sierra compares Duncan and Gwen's relationship to her and Cody's, Gwen sarcastically remarks that they are just like them. Gwen performs well in the challenge, increasing the lead for her team. Gwen shows off her harsher side in Saving Private Leechball when she snaps at Heather and Jo, who are arguing at night about who made their team lose. She harshly tells the two that their loss was because they didn't work as a team and that she needs to get some sleep, telling the other two to "cram it". In the confessional, Gwen worries that she sounded villainous despite her best efforts not to. She claims that "bunking with the bickersons" is driving her "bonkers". The next morning, Heather approaches Gwen and agrees with her, saying "teamwork is key". Jo does the same, and Gwen accepts both of their apologies. It turns out that the two of them are playing Gwen, since if they get Gwen's vote, then they get Duncan's too. In the confessional, Gwen reveals that she actually knows what they are doing, and is happy about it in, expressing her joy at having power for once. Courtney glares at Gwen again, but this time, Duncan does not do anything for Gwen, due to him blanking Courtney the way she is blanking him. Alejandro is aware of Heather and Jo's plan, so he also tries to lure Gwen into an alliance. He says that if Gwen was his girlfriend, then he would never let anyone treat her badly, saying it is just "something to think about".
As another attempt at forming an alliance, Heather compliments Gwen's tactic of "apologizing" to Courtney in order to defeat her. Gwen denies this, saying she never intended to hurt Courtney. Heather believes Gwen is lying to hold up her strategy and plays along. Later, Gwen thinks of a strategy for her team and manages to get the best weapons for her team when her plan works. When Alejandro says that they should use the weapons as a team, Gwen is pleased. Gwen suggests that her team ditch the cannon, as it makes them vulnerable. Alejandro, Heather, and Jo fight over who gets to go with Gwen, and Gwen ends up heading off with Duncan. Even Duncan believes that Gwen is intentionally hurting Courtney, and tells her to imagine Mike as Courtney to defeat him easier. Gwen, hurt, tells Duncan that he does not know her at all. Meanwhile, Cameron targets and shoots Gwen with a leech, and Duncan jumps in front of Gwen to defend her. Gwen retaliates, shooting Cameron with a leech successfully. Gwen turns around to help Duncan, and Mike is able to shoot her. When Duncan is forced to switch teams, he kisses Gwen on the cheek. As Courtney enters the villains' team, Gwen tries to welcome her, only to kick a bucket of leeches onto her head. A worried Gwen wonders if she is doing it on purpose.
In Food Fright, Gwen is shown crying the confessional, due to her failure at making amends with Courtney, which is the only thing she returned for. Courtney, who is eavesdropping, wonders why Gwen would say that and questions her sincerity. When Heather and Courtney argue over who goes next to eat the pancake in the challenge, they are interrupted by Gwen, who volunteers next with the hope of making amends with Courtney if she helps the Villains win the challenge. Courtney claims that Gwen is setting a trap for her, but Heather states that Gwen is too busy for that. Courtney tries to make an alliance with Heather, proposing that if their team loses, they should vote off Gwen. Heather agrees with Courtney but crosses her fingers behind her back. Gwen, eating the pancake, is attacked by crabs from inside it. Gwen begins to feel nauseous, and vomits on Duncan on the spinning logs, eliminating her from the challenge. Chris mocks Gwen, remarking that she gives the "Hurl of Shame new meaning". During Chris's shocking announcements, he adds that this is the first day where Gwen has not injured Courtney in any way.
In Moon Madness, Gwen continues to try and make things right with Courtney, but this time makes slower, and more gradual progress. When Heather is affected by the Blue Harvest Moon and becomes nice despite the moon only affecting animals, Gwen jokes with Courtney that Heather is probably part wolf. Courtney laughs, pleasing Gwen before Courtney remembers that she's mad at Gwen. Gwen believes that she is getting closer to patching things up with her. When the Villainous Vultures reach the rope bridge, Gwen refuses to cross it, believing it will break. In the confessional, Gwen explains that anyone who's seen a movie will know that the rope bridge always breaks. After Courtney destroys the bridge, Heather points out that Gwen won't be able to cross it if she can't find another way around. As Gwen finds a way around the rope bridge, she runs into Duncan, and they are chased by wild animals affected by the moon. Duncan manages to save them by throwing his sausage tails in another direction. Gwen becomes upset when Duncan asks about Courtney, now that she and Gwen are on the same team.
Gwen becomes angrier, realizing how "obsessed" Duncan is with his ex-girlfriend. She angrily tells him that Courtney hasn't said anything about him before walking away angrily. In the confessional, Gwen complains about how Duncan's obsession is "so uncool it burns". Meanwhile, Courtney screams into the forest angrily, believing her team is going to lose because of Gwen. A deer, dangerous due to the effects of the moon, attacks Courtney. Fortunately, Gwen manages to shove a stick into the deer's mouth, saving Courtney's life. The two manage to cross the finish line before a dazed Mike, winning for her team. In the elimination ceremony, Gwen wishes aloud that she is a part of the Heroic Hamsters. Duncan tries to comfort Gwen by kissing her cheek but ruins it when he asks if Courtney saw. This makes Gwen reach her breaking point, as she pushes him away and breaks up with him. In the confessional, Gwen complains about Duncan, saying that the first time they kissed after the London challenge, she felt fireworks, but now it was "like being kissed by a shoe", stating that "the thrill is so gone".
In No One Eggspects The Spanish Opposition, Gwen is the only Villainous Vulture to extend a friendly hand toward their new member. When Cameron's glasses break, Gwen approaches him with a twist-tie to fix them, which Cameron is very grateful for. He fixes his glasses, and thanks Gwen. Later, during the challenge, Gwen saves Cameron from Sierra, who is still obsessed with him. When Gwen, Cameron, and Heather all gather near their team's egg basket, Heather secretly informs them that Alejandro is planning on voting for Cameron, much to Gwen's shock. Heather assures the two that her vote is for Alejandro, and they should vote with her. Despite Gwen's efforts, the Villainous Vultures lose and have to vote someone off in the elimination ceremony. Before they vote, Gwen pulls Courtney behind a bush. She informs Courtney that she has broken up with Duncan, and she has learned her lesson about choosing boys over her friends, hoping Courtney will accept her apology. She tells Courtney that she will vote however Courtney asks, no strings attached. Courtney is hesitant, but, eventually, accepts and whispers her instructions for how to vote in Gwen's ear. It is revealed that Gwen votes for Alejandro.
In Suckers Punched, Gwen is seen eating breakfast with Cameron, Courtney, and Scott. Along with the rest of them, she too is mad at Alejandro for the way he betrayed Heather. After Scott fights Fang and loses, Gwen offers her help to Courtney, who is trying to help Scott. Courtney warmly thanks Gwen, and Gwen is elated about this in the confessional, remarking on how Courtney finally treated her "like a human being". In Courtney's confessional, she says that maybe Gwen has "paid her dues", and does not worry about Gwen kissing Scott. When it is Alejandro's turn to box, Courtney remarks to Gwen that she hopes Alejandro has to fight Heather, making Gwen snicker. After Duncan's fight, Gwen and Courtney mock him together for his failure in defeating a bird. Gwen fights next, but to her horror, she has to fight Courtney. Both girls refuse to fight each other, causing Chris to give them some incentive. Chris pulls up Sierra's Gwuncan blog, showing clips of them making out from I See London..., The EX-Files, Hawaiian Style and Bigger! Badder! Brutal-er!.
Courtney decides she is not as "over it" as she thought, and apologizes to Gwen; saying that this is going to hurt Gwen a lot more than it hurts herself. Gwen retaliates, saying that her hit is for Duncan not being Courtney's boyfriend at the time. This pleases Duncan as he believes his former girllfriends still like him. By the time they finish, Gwen is beaten and black-eyed, just like Courtney. Gwen admits to Courtney that she only returned to the show to make amends with Courtney, and Courtney, in turn, reveals that she missed Gwen's friendship more than being in a relationship with Duncan. They collapse to their knees and embrace, deciding to be friends forever. Once again, Gwen plays hard and manages to win for her team due to touching Chris's heart. When the Villainous Vultures get to choose who is eliminated, Gwen announces that they choose to eliminate Sierra. When she is flushed, Gwen informs Sierra to tell Cody she says hi. When Duncan tells Sierra to make more Gwuncan videos, Gwen glares at Duncan.
In You Regatta Be Kidding Me, Gwen wakes up and expresses how great her night was, saying she dreamt that she was riding a fluffy unicorn across clouds made of marshmallows. Courtney agrees, saying the beds are soft for sure. Gwen admits that, before she and Courtney made up, she was planning on quitting the game. She says that now that they're friends, she never wants it to end. She states that if she does not win the million, she hopes Courtney does. She confirms this to be true in the confessional. After Chris announces the merge and begins the challenge, Gwen immediately teams up with Courtney. They reject Duncan's offer to work with them, and Gwen laughs at Duncan's implication that Mike is a threat. Courtney and Gwen are the first ones to arrive, along with Alejandro, and manage to get one of the top quality vehicles. When they enter "coconut alley", Chef drops a coconut on Courtney, causing her to fall out of the boat.
Gwen grabs her leg and manages to pull her back in before Courtney falls into the water. Courtney thanks Gwen, stating that she nearly got her hair wet. Gwen states that she would never let that happen, talking about how much she loves Courtney's hair. Courtney compliments Gwen back, asking how Gwen keeps her hair so nice, and Gwen answers by telling her that she "double conditions". However, as they gush over each other's hair, Chef drops a stick of dynamite on their engine. Courtney starts hitting the engine, angrily trying to get it to work. A frustrated Gwen grabs an oar and starts rowing in the front of the boat in an effort to win. Eventually, the engine starts working again. They effortlessly manage to stay in the lead, ahead of "Mike" and Zoey. In the end, Courtney and Gwen manage to come in second, as Alejandro wins at the last second. When Duncan is eliminated, Gwen mockingly tells him she hopes his "bad boy" image is worth going to jail for.
In Zeek And Ye Shall Find, Mal convinces Cameron that Gwen is plotting against him along with everyone else, causing Cameron to act hostile toward Gwen. After Chef tells the contestants to rescue Chris when he is kidnapped by a feral Ezekiel, Gwen refuses, arguing that Ezekiel is "psycho-crazy". When Chef agrees to the contestants' conditions (whoever rescues Chris receives invincibility, permanent residence at the Spa Hotel and gets to choose who goes to exile), Gwen tries to team with Courtney and Scott, but Scott refuses, saying that he and Courtney are in their "one-hour anniversary". Gwen asks Alejandro, but he refuses as well, saying he works alone. Gwen goes to the trio of "Mike", Zoey and Cameron and asks to work with them, and they reluctantly let her work with them. They find several holes above the cave entrance and believe that Ezekiel uses them to get in and out of the mine. The idea of exploring the mine is horrifying to Gwen, whose worst fear is being buried alive, due to being underground being very similar to it. However, Gwen missteps and ends up falling into the mine. Zoey jumps in to help her. Meanwhile, Alejandro gets stuck in a stream, and calls out for Gwen, asking if she still wants to be his partner.
Back in the mine, Gwen begins to hyperventilate as her flashlight doesn't work. Chef Hatchet hears Gwen's screaming. Zoey manages to find Gwen, and the latter is both glad to see Zoey and also afraid, telling Zoey to never scare her like that. Zoey comforts Gwen, helping her calm down. As they try to escape, Gwen takes note of every little sound, getting more afraid with every step. She becomes mortified when Zoey is captured by Ezekiel, shaking in the confessional while curled up. Later, Cameron falls into the stream near Gwen, and Gwen saves him from drowning. Cameron immediately seizes the opportunity and apologizes to Gwen for how he acted. Cameron and Gwen arrive at Ezekiel's lair and Ezekiel attacks Cameron. Gwen seizes this opportunity to take Chef's spaghetti cannon, and shoots Ezekiel, trapping him, saying "This...is for Cameron", as the captured contestants cheer for her. Gwen saves Chris and helps Cameron out of the rocks he gets trapped in. Back at the bonfire, Chris declares Gwen the winner for defeating Ezekiel and rescuing him. Chris honors Chef's deal, and Gwen decides to send Alejandro to Boney Island. Gwen is upset to see an injured Cameron go, telling him to get well soon.
In The Obsta-Kill Kourse, Courtney confides in Zoey that Cameron kissed her in the previous episode, and asks her not to tell Gwen. Before the challenge begins, Zoey talks to Gwen and tells her about Alejandro letting Cameron fall back in the mines. Gwen says that is harsh, even for Alejandro's standards. Zoey proposes that they vote him off in the next elimination ceremony, and Gwen agrees. During the challenge, Alejandro tries to warn Gwen about Mal, but Gwen says that she's too busy "trying to stay alive" to listen to Alejandro. Alejandro understands but decides to issue a quick warning. However, he is unable to do so. When Gwen reaches the ropes with Zoey, Zoey asks Gwen if she is allergic to dog hair. When Gwen answers that she isn't, they laugh about how gross the challenge is. Courtney shouts at Zoey, warning her that she better not be laughing at her kissing Scott and Cameron. Gwen, who had not heard of Courtney's actions prior to this, is surprised upon hearing this. Scott adds that they were together at the time.
Gwen continues the challenge, angrily yelling back at Courtney that she wants to have a "little chat" if they survive the challenge. When Gwen reaches the "snapping bars" and finds out the origin of the name (snapping turtles in the water), she sarcastically remarks that it's "hilarious". Later, during the "Duck and Cover" portion of the obstacle course, Courtney and Gwen hide behind a bush. Courtney explains the Cameron situation to Gwen and Gwen questions why Cameron kissed her. Courtney replies that it may be because she's pretty, and Gwen agrees but says that the kiss came out of nowhere. Gwen, along with Courtney and Scott, are the last few to reach the final part of the obstacle course. Gwen manages to successfully cross the finish line. In the elimination ceremony, Gwen keeps her deal with Zoey and votes for Alejandro. When Chris asks Zoey who is going to join her in the McLean Spa Hotel, Gwen cuts him off, exclaiming that she cannot tolerate another night there with Chris. Chris retorts by sending Gwen to exile on Boney Island, much to Gwen's displeasure.
The remaining contestants are impressed with how well Gwen handles exile when she tells them her story in Sundae Muddy Sundae. She explains that she had a wooly beaver after her, so she climbed into the forest canopy and fell asleep looking at the stars. Courtney is glad to see Gwen back, not surprised that Gwen was able to handle Boney Island so well. When Mike, Scott, and Zoey leave, Courtney complains about Zoey, claiming she feels a cutthroat vibe from her. Gwen is taken aback when Courtney suggests that they shun her. Afterwards, Courtney asks Gwen if she is still mad about the "Cameron situation". As Scott shows off his "muscles", Courtney and Gwen mockingly laugh at him. Later, Gwen is shocked when she finds out that Courtney does not want to go to the finale with Gwen after all, wanting her gone before Scott, according to her chart. They all leave Courtney, as Gwen states that not even Courtney can talk her way out of this situation. Later, Courtney apologizes to Gwen, but Gwen calls her "Chartney", and declares that it's "every woman for herself". As Gwen climbs the man-made mountain of snow, Scott pushes her down, determined to beat Courtney.
Gwen claims the lead after filling her bowl with ice cream and sliding down the mountain. Gwen keeps her lead all the way to the swamp. When Gwen is threatened by an alligator, Mike passes her, grabs a cherry, and dunks Gwen into the water. Gwen is surprised, labeling him as either "really brave, really bananas, or both," but recovers and stays on his tail. When Gwen reaches the lodge, Mike turns the Drama Machine's attention toward Gwen. Gwen manages to evade the Drama Machine, getting its hammer stuck in the wall, as she grabs crushed nuts for her sundae. Outside the lodge, Gwen encounters Courtney again, who begs her not to vote for her. Gwen admits that she still wants to be friends with Courtney, but cannot trust her. Gwen says that Courtney has to vote for herself, and offers no alternative after Courtney protests, saying that it's just a chance she'll have to take. Gwen manages to snag the lead again, as Mike waits for Zoey at the chocolate sauce. Gwen manages to take the chocolate sauce first, and escape. She races alongside Mike, Scott, and Zoey to the finish line but is beat by Courtney. As they all eat their sundaes, Gwen teases Scott. At the elimination ceremony, Courtney once again requests Gwen not to vote for her, and Gwen says she won't as long as Courtney votes for herself.
Gwen is excited to be the last first generation contestant standing in The Bold and the Booty-ful, saying that, if she wants to win then she needs an alliance. She tries to make one with Scott, but he rejects her to due to his talk with "Mike" earlier. When the contestants have to pick which item they have to reclaim for the pirate challenge, Gwen's chest contains pepper, causing her to sneeze. Gwen has to reclaim an intact portrait of Chris from the destroyed cottage. When she reaches the cottage, she is initially confident in herself but retracts her enthusiasm when she sees how burned, scattered and in ruins the debris in the area is. As she grumpily searches the cottage, Mike sneaks up behind her and nearly hits her with a pipe. However, before he can succeed, Gwen becomes aware of his presence. The two agree to team up, but, in the confessional, Gwen says that she notices a negative change in Mike; she explains that he has become more sadistic as if he enjoys watching pain, and compares him to Chris.
Back at the cottage, Gwen warns Mike about how frail the cottage is, and Mike smiles evilly and kicks down a post, burying Gwen in the rubble. Later, Gwen pulls herself out of the wreckage, grumbling about Mike, and continues trying to find an intact painting of Chris. She finds one, but accidentally smudges it. She frantically works to restore the tarnished painting, but cannot find the perfect shade of brown. However, she encounters bear feces. Despite being disgusted, she admits that the shade is right. She uses it for the painting, and despite her efforts, she arrives last. However, unlike Mike and Scott, she actually has her item. Chris recoils at the smell of the painting, asking what the "earthy aroma" is. Gwen tries to sugarcoat what she did but ends up admitting that she used bear poop. For "defacing" his painting, Chris eliminates Gwen. While she takes the Flush of Shame, she wishes Zoey good luck. After Zoey says that she hopes they are on the same team next time, Gwen angrily exclaims that she never wants to return to Total Drama. In her exclusive clip, she finds herself in Niagara Falls with Scott, happy to be alive. As soon as she thinks everything is fine, she realizes where she is. As she falls off the waterfall, she angrily screams about how much she hates Chris.
Gwen serves as Zoey's helper in The Final Wreck-ening when the latter successfully shoots her down from a balloon. In the confessional, Zoey mentions Gwen, saying she feels bad for bringing her into danger. When they reach the first moat, Gwen proposes that they use the long sticks they were provided with as oars, and they use Cameron's bubble to float on the toxic moat. When Zoey shows concern for Mal's safety, Gwen reminds Zoey that he is not Mike anymore. She advises her to stop worrying about him before he hurts her. After Mal throws Cameron back onto the first moat, Gwen angrily attempts to slap Mal, but he grabs her hand and throws her on top of Cameron. After Mal is defeated and Mike regains control, Gwen high-fives Cameron. After Mike and Zoey have their first kiss, and so do Alejandro and Heather, Gwen kisses Cameron's cheek. As everyone scrambles to reach the top, Gwen fights Heather. Whoever wins, Gwen congratulates them. When Chef Hatchet says he used a fracking machine to create the moats, Gwen misunderstands and tells Chef he cannot say that on television. Cameron corrects Gwen on what a fracking machine is before the island begins to sink. Fortunately, Gwen, Cameron, Zoey, and Mike manage to stay afloat on the roof of one of the cabins. When Mike asks that they should join another season, Gwen, Cameron and Zoey yell "NO!"
In Tiger Fail, an elderly Gwen makes a cameo appearance at the end of the episode which takes place 78 years into the future. She and Cody had been playing the silent game for decades to decide which ice cream flavor to buy and she won after Cody passes away.
