- Chef calls Courtney a "total drama queen" with emphasis, an obvious reference to the Total Drama series.
- This episode implies that the series (or this episode at least) takes place in the year 2021 as Courtney mentions that Duncan is born thirty years after the released of the first Street Fighter game in 1987 and the children are four years old.
Continuity[]
- The ending credits feature clips from the following past episodes: Ant We All Just Get Along, An Egg-stremely Bad Idea, The Bad Guy Busters, Harold Swatter and the Goblet of Flies, Soother or Later, Mutt Ado About Owen, A Dame-gerous Game, Camping is In Tents, Gnome More Mister Nice Guy, and Supply Mom.
- Duncan's costume and face paint are similar to the attire he wears in OWW.
References[]

- The outfits of the kids in this episode parody the Mad Max series of films.
- As Courtney is explaining the rules, Owen is carving the statue of David.
- At one point, Harold references He-Man and the Masters of the Universe by performing He-Man's catchphrase and signature pose/transformation.
- Beth's visor blast resembles the one used by Cyclops from X-Men.
- When a charged-up Duncan fires an energy blast from his palms, shouting "Haduncan", this resembles the move "Hadouken" introduced August 1987 in the video game Street Fighter.
Goofs[]
- When the kids threw their shoes into the fire barrel, Gwen's shoes are seen, despite her not appearing in the episode.
- When Courtney gets surrounded by the other kids, she appears wearing her sandals which disappear the next time she's in frame.
