The snake is a recurring animal that appears several times throughout the series. They appear in many different colors including green, purple, and orange.

DJ reveals in Phobia Factor that he has a fear of snakes. When the Screaming Gophers offer him some jelly, which contains a gummy worm, he mistakes it for a snake and knocks the dish away. For his challenge, DJ has to touch a harmless green snake. DJ screams when the snake blinks, but Sadie assures him that blinking means that the snake actually likes him. After being scolded by Courtney for his cowardice, DJ touches the snake earning a point for his team.

In Paintball Deer Hunter, an orange snake blew Owen's cover when he is trying to shoot DJ with his paintball gun.

In Who Can You Trust?, a snake devours DJ's pet bunny after Geoff kept it unguarded. The snake is then snatched by an eagle and all three animals are then devoured by a shark.

In Brunch of Disgustingness, when Trent is in the confessional booth, a snake is seen with a rabbit in its stomach, slithering away. One of DJ's challenge in No Pain, No Game involves him being constricted by a snake. He ultimately fails the challenge and is forced into stocks.

A snake held the key to Izzy's treasure chest in Search and Do Not Destroy. Izzy simply allows the snake to constrict her and bites her in the head. Izzy sees this as the snake kissing her and then passes out from the venom. She still has the snake wrapped around her when the campers gather at the campfire and passes out again after being bitten for the second time.

In Camp Castaways, a snake falls out of a tree just as the final four campers were reunited, forcing them to take refuge in the tree house which was too high for it to reach. Duncan describes it as "a 50-foot python with an attitude." It kept them trapped there for several hours, according to Gwen, before Owen knocks it out with Mr. Coconut, allowing them to finally escape it.

A snake made a brief appearance in the second aftermath show called "DJ's World of Animals," as one of the animals that DJ injured as a result of his alleged curse. After being released, the snake wraps itself around Blaineley's neck, forcing her to wear a neck-brace for the remainder of the episode.

In Awwwwww, Drumheller, the interns were supposed to bury barrels containing maple syrup, sugar, spiders and snakes instead of the plane's fuel reserve as part of the challenge. As punishment, Chris pushes one of the barrels at the interns, releasing the snakes and spiders inside onto them.

In Twinning Isn't Everything, Sugar is bitten by a snake on the face, but she thinks that it is cleaning her face. She then thanks the snake, calling it a worm, and then throws it at the direction of Rodney, who almost shot her.

In Three Zones and A Baby, rattlesnakes appear in the first zone, to make it even more dangerous in addition to the lions. Max at one point tries to tame a snake but to no avail. Before leaving the first zone, a snake is awakened by Sugar and it bits the lion it is on, causing a fight between both animals.

In New Beijinging, while not part of the main ingredient for the exotic skewer, snakes are within a few of the boxes at the food vendor. One coiled around Ryan's neck, while another bit Devin in the face.

In My Way or Zimbabwe, after punching his stepbrother, Lorenzo is constricted by a snake.

In Down and Outback, Spud mentioned that he owned a pet snake that ate a lot of things around his neighborhood. This knowledge allows Spud to know how many rabbits were devoured by a snake during the challenge, which is exact amount they need to proceed with the race.

In Not Without My Fudgy Lumps, a green snake, along with a squirrel, ate Owen's fudgy lumps.


  • The purple snake is identified by Duncan in Camp Castaways as a python. In real life, pythons are non-venomous snakes and therefore, lack fangs.
