When two new kids show up at the daycare, Duncan and Leshawna take issue with not what makes them different, but what makes them similar to the newbies.
Plot[]
The episode begins with Chef calling the kids over, informing them of a huge surprise. Owen asks him if they are having pizza for breakfast, Cody asks if it is his birthday, and Duncan jokingly asks if he has been fired. Before Chef can actually reveal the surprise, Sugar and Lightning enter, spoiling it. Chef introduces them as new students, offering Sugar the chance to introduce herself.
Sugar quickly introduces herself as a country girl with a passion for winning pageants and being on television, impressing the others. Sugar also informs them she sang the slogan for a commercial, to which they were unaware. She proceeds to perform it for them, before Chef offers Lightning the chance for an introduction. Lightning simply states that he wants to be the greatest at football, in addition to several other roles. Duncan tells Leshawna that Lightning seems conceited, though she dismisses this as jealousy, excited for her and Sugar to impress together.
That day, at recess, Lightning places and kicks an apple off Harold’s head and chops it midair. Duncan interrupts him, showing Cody a bunch of coins, activating a hidden spring that launches him. However, Lightning saves Cody before he hits the ground. In a confessional, Duncan claims he is above all of the other guys, refusing to let Lightning steal his position. Duncan and Lightning get into an argument over who is cooler, with Duncan challenging Lightning to a cool-off to prove it, with Lightning accepting despite not knowing what it is.
Meanwhile, Leshawna speaks to Sugar inside, stating they should perform together. Sugar offers Leshawna the chance to be her understudy, which Leshawna quickly refuses, claiming she is always the star of the show. Leshawna then notices and accuses Sugar of wearing her tiara, with Sugar claiming she believed it was available to anyone at the daycare. Izzy hops out of the toy box in an apple costume, agreeing with Sugar. Leshawna and Sugar begin fighting over the tiara. Sugar succeeds in distracting Leshawna and taking the tiara.
At this time, the cool-off is concluding, with certain kids judging the sunglasses Duncan and Lightning have made. Duncan’s sunglasses impress the judges, while Lightning did not make any at all, stating they would not have made him any more attractive. Owen and Cody both agree that this is extremely cool, with Harold declaring Lightning the winner. Duncan objects, challenging Lightning to another round, painting graffiti on the side of the building. In addition to making a much nicer painting, Lightning used a canvas to avoid defacing the daycare. He is declared winner once again, with Duncan challenging him to yet another round.
Meanwhile, Sugar sits in a stall in the restroom, singing a song about swallowing a bee. Leshawna, using a fishing line, snatches her tiara and flees just as she realizes this. Just before the next event of the cool-off can be started, Owen becomes cornered by a squirrel wanting his peanut butter. Lightning accepts Duncan’s challenge, despite his previous wins, that whoever catches the squirrel wins the cool-off. The two dive into a bush, with Duncan emerging and claiming he has caught the squirrel, mistakenly having caught a Komodo dragon. The dragon believes Duncan is his mother, until his real mother emerges from the bush, enraged with Duncan.
At this time, Leshawna crawls through the ceiling, as Sugar uses a broom to attempt to get her down. After doing so, she takes the tiara and runs off. The kids outside drive away from the mother Komodo dragon, with Duncan realizing it's chasing them because he's still holding her baby. He tosses it to Cody, who Izzy tosses to the dragon. Despite Duncan being happy they are now safe, Lightning stops and dives for Cody, claiming the coolest thing one can be is a hero. Duncan declares yet another challenge, won by whoever saves Cody. Lightning tosses the baby dragon to Duncan, who successfully catches it before tossing it back in a football style. Lightning catches the dragon, though loses it in a shrub.
Just then, Sugar and Leshawna dart out of the daycare and unintentionally throw the tiara onto the mother Komodo dragon. Leshawana tells Sugar off a plan to get it back, with Sugar agreeing on the promise they share it afterward. While Leshawna drives, Sugar successfully lassos the tiara off the dragon and ties her up. The others declare the girls the winners of the cool-off, to the protests of Duncan and Lightning. The mother Komodo dragon is taken away, along with its baby. Despite their previous compromise, Leshawna and Sugar begin arguing over the tiara once again and end up breaking it in half. In a dual confessional, they each wear a half, stating that their feud is not over. Suddenly, Chef invites the kids inside to see whether he can float after filling his pants with cereal and milk. On the way in, Lightning and Sugar both agree the daycare is strange, with Izzy informing them that it is like this every day. The episode ends with Chef sinking off screen and asking for more cereal in his pants.
