A Team Transfer is when a contestant from one team is relocated to another team. This process can take two forms: either a contestant from each team is exchanged, or a single contestant is transferred to the opposing team. In the case of the former, this exchange can happen either by Chris's decision or by the contestants' choice.

Katie and Sadie have been best friends since they were kids, but are placed on opposing teams in the previous episode. During the first challenge, Sadie doesn't want to jump off the cliff without Katie and the girls beg Chris to put them on the same team. Feeling sorry for them, Izzy offers to switch teams with Katie. Chris is not happy about it but agrees to let the switch happen.

Walk Like An Egyptian - Part 2[]
When all three teams arrived at the Nile River, Izzy and Sierra decided to switch teams so they could be with their respective love interests. Heather agrees to the switch since she believes that Sierra will be a better teammate than Izzy but Alejandro objects and says that Chris will never allow it to happen. Chris then appears on the contestants' side of the river and Sierra persuades him to approve the team swap, which he eventually does.

During the challenge, Courtney uses the injured Sam as a human shield to protect herself from Jo. Meanwhile, Duncan does the opposite by using himself as a human shield to protect Gwen from Cameron. Because of their actions, Chris deems Courtney a better villain and Duncan a better hero and has the two of them swap teams that night.

Cameron voluntereed for elimination in this episode to escape from Sierra's obsession towards him. Chris, however, reveals he had planned a twist for this episode where the eliminated contestant would be switched to the winning team as a reward, so he was transferred to the Villainous Vultures instead.

Believing that Max and Scarlett are a couple and on the verge of heading to "smooch town," Chris decides to separate the two by transferring Max to the Confused Bears. To keep the teams balanced, he implements a team swap by transferring Sky to Pimâpotew Kinosewak, ironically separating the genuine mutual attraction.

Trivia[]
- Izzy is the only contestant in the Total Drama history to switch teams more than once.
- Duncan and Courtney are the first couple in Total Drama history to switch teams. However, they weren't together anymore when they switched teams.
- Total Drama: Revenge of the Island had the first team transfer to feature a female and a male contestant, and the first team transfer to involve a male contestant.
- So far, no team transfer has happened involving two male contestants switching with each other.
- Sky and Duncan are the only finalists to have swapped teams.
- Sky is the only one to do so in the season she was a finalist in.
- In Jamaica Me Sweat, Alejandro asks Chris to allow DJ to be transferred to his his team, given that DJ is the last member of Team Victory. Chris declines the request, stating that not only it would put Team Amazon at a disadvantage, he is unwilling to make anymore swaps after Izzy and Sierra in Walk Like An Egyptian - Part 2.
- Although no switches happen in Total Drama Island, Scary Girl requests for Chris to be transferred to Frogs of Death in Meet the Victims, as she liked the "death" part of the team name. Chris, however, does not comply to her request.
