Welcome to Character Appreciation, a blog series that will run for the whole year alongside Project 10. Each week we'll take a look at one Total Drama character, what we like and dislike about them, how they've grown, and what we hope to see from them in the future. I'm Raised By Wolves, and we're going to start our first week by looking at Arch-Villain, Alejandro!

Overview[]

Alejandro joined the cast of Total Drama in the third season alongside Sierra as a brand new competitor. He was put in the game to shake things up, and shake things up he did. Not only did he single-handedly annihilate an entire team, he caused a whopping NINE eliminations in Total Drama World Tour, and depending on which ending you prefer, he even took down the formidable Heather and won the million dollar prize, at the expense of having to spend a year inside a robot suit, of course.

Alejandro returned again in Total Drama All-Stars and didn't prove to be as popular as before. Despite leaving his old suave voice behind in the robot suit, Alejandro was as cunning as ever, plotting to take down Heather as revenge for all she had done to him. Once she was out of the way, Alejandro formed a rivalry with the main antagonist, Mal, which didn't win the approval of many fans. Perhaps it was because he has proved himself better in the past, or maybe it's because seeing Alejandro be brought to his knees by a walking toothpick wasn't at all realistic? Many will agree that his performance in the fifth season left much more to be desired.

Opinions[]

Personally, I'm a huge Alejandro fan. He's a great character, and in my opinion he's a huge breath of fresh air for this show. After seeing the same characters for two seasons straight, it's great to see a new face (the same goes for Sierra). I love how he provides something new to the show, in the form of his excellent antagonism through manipulation of others with his excellent looks, social skills and talents. He really earned his spot in the finale in his debut season. Along with that, he has an incredible interaction with Heather, which captivated me throughout the season. While his original voice is left behind in Total Drama All-Stars, Alejandro's appeal only grows. All-Stars does wonders for Alejandro, from continuing his interactions with Heather, to flirting with Gwen, Alejandro was never boring in All-Stars. He continues to slay the season after the merge, winning the first challenge in style, having a battle of wits with Mal, and even being redeemed in his final competing episode, the The Obsta-Kill Kourse. I hope to see Alejandro in a future season, because he has secured his spot as one of my favorite characters in the series.

Best Moment: Photoshopping images of Heather and Cody sleeping together in order to manipulate Sierra.
Best Season: Total Drama World Tour
Best Episode: Awwwwww, Drumheller
